The AEON 1% Club opened 35 schools in Myanmar for 1st project of 3 year plan (2012-2015). As the 2nd project (3 year plan), we made the partnership with the international NGO “ADRA Japan” till 2019 and aim to open 20 schools.
On 29th Mar, 2018, we opened the schools at “Oh Poh West Primary School” in Twante District located southwest of Yangon from which about 260 children will learn.
The AEON 1% Club foundation held the school opening ceremony at Sar Phyu Su village on 29th Mar, 2017. We have built total 35 of schools in Myanmar from 2013 to 2014 and another 20 schools are planned to build in 2017 to 2019.
On 9th February 2020, 6th Time of Japan Myanmar Pwe Taw was held in Thuwana Bhumi Event Park. The event was held for the culture exchange between Myanmar-Japan relationship since 2014 and co-organized by the Embassy of Japan, Japanese Chamber of Commerce, Yangon Japanese Association, NHK, JIB, NEP and Dream Vision Company (DVC) aiming to present a joint festival of both Myanmar and Japan containing Japanese food, products and music concert by artists from both Myanmar and Japan as usual.
As AEON Group, Aeon 1% Club Foundation, AEON Orange, AEON Mall, AEON Credit Service, and AEON Microfinance (Myanmar) participated the event by introducing our group CSR activities, conducting quiz session about environmental activities and about 250 people participated in this session to know about AEON group environmental activities.
The 7th Japanese language speech contest was held at School for the deaf, Mandalay on 27th January 2020 as the promoting of the languages between Myanmar & Japan. This contest was organized by Kyoshin Co., Ltd. & Kyoshin JETC Co., Ltd. and AEON Microfinance (Myanmar) Co., Ltd. also supported as one of the co-sponsors. We congratulate all of this year’s contestants and extend a warm thank you to the families and all audience members who took the time to support and ensure the success of the event.
The AEON 1% Club Foundation held the 7th AEON Scholarship Granting Ceremony on December 10, 2019. AEON 1% Club Foundation started its program since 2006 in Myanmar, and provided scholarship to 40 new Myanmar students studying in Yangon University of Foreign Languages and Yangon University of Economics. At the Scholarship Granting Ceremony, scholarship students gave speeches on their dreams and goals.
On 31st August 2019 (Saturday), AEON ORANGE COMPANY LIMITED (hereinafter AEON Orange), AEON MICROFINANCE (MYANMAR) CO., LTD and AEON THANA SINSAP (THAILAND) PLC (Referred to as “AEON Thana Sinsap”) have provided emergency support donations and fund-raising through the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement since many people were affected by floods in Myanmar.
In Myanmar, heavy rains due to the monsoon caused floods and landslides throughout the country in August, and about 80,000 people are forced to live in about 160 evacuation camps (as of 22nd August). In particular, small-scale landslides have continued in the southeastern of Mon State, and in the coast of the state Ye Township, temporary logistics have been disrupted, and recovery activities are still ongoing.
In light of these circumstances, emergency support donations were conducted from 22nd August (Thursday) to 28th August (Wednesday) at total of 18 locations, including AEON Orange and AEON Microfinance offices.
Total of 15,000 US dollars received from donations of customers and employees in this fund-raising activity, including support funds from AEON Orange, AEON Microfinance, AEON MALL, and AEON Thana Sinsap. And AEON 1% Club, also donated additional 20,000 US dollars to relieve the flood disaster victims.
We sincerely hope that all of affected Myanmar people will recover to their normal living as soon as possible.

On 29th Mar, 2019, we built the schools at “Sin Sa Khan (1) Primary School” in Sin Sa Khan village tract Taikkyi Township, Yangon Region.
Japan Myanmar Pwe Taw 2019 was held in Yangon, Myanmar on 3rd February 2019.
The event was the 5th time jointly sponsored by Embassy of Japan in Myanmar, Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Myanmar, Yangon Japanese Association、Nippon Hoso Kyokai (NHK)、and DVC, and had music concert of Myanmar and Japanese top artists, and participated by various types of Myanmar and Japanese companies and restaurants introducing their expertise.
For AEON Group, Aeon 1% Club Foundation, AEON Orange, AEON Mall and AEON Microfinance (Myanmar) participated the event every year to introduce our group and its CSR activities, and also introduced AEON private brand product of “TOPVALU” as well as food cooked by AEON Orange chef. In addition, at our booth, we conducted quiz session about environmental activities by AEON Group and 250 people participated in the session to understand more about AEON Group environmental activities.

The AEON 1% Club Foundation on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 held providing AEON Scholarship Certificate aimed for outstanding students studying in Yangon University of Foreign Languages and Yangon University of Economics. The AEON Scholarships is a program that provide financial support to Asian students and Japanese students to help their dreams as a part. The Scholarship program of this year was 6th time for Myanmar students.
