AEON donated for Myanmar Flood Disaster
On 31st August 2019 (Saturday), AEON ORANGE COMPANY LIMITED (hereinafter AEON Orange), AEON MICROFINANCE (MYANMAR) CO., LTD and AEON THANA SINSAP (THAILAND) PLC (Referred to as “AEON Thana Sinsap”) have provided emergency support donations and fund-raising through the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement since many people were affected by floods in Myanmar.
In Myanmar, heavy rains due to the monsoon caused floods and landslides throughout the country in August, and about 80,000 people are forced to live in about 160 evacuation camps (as of 22nd August). In particular, small-scale landslides have continued in the southeastern of Mon State, and in the coast of the state Ye Township, temporary logistics have been disrupted, and recovery activities are still ongoing.
In light of these circumstances, emergency support donations were conducted from 22nd August (Thursday) to 28th August (Wednesday) at total of 18 locations, including AEON Orange and AEON Microfinance offices.
Total of 15,000 US dollars received from donations of customers and employees in this fund-raising activity, including support funds from AEON Orange, AEON Microfinance, AEON MALL, and AEON Thana Sinsap. And AEON 1% Club, also donated additional 20,000 US dollars to relieve the flood disaster victims.
We sincerely hope that all of affected Myanmar people will recover to their normal living as soon as possible.
